A dedicated wildlife sanctuary offering eco-accommodation

Description

David Allwood and Murray Groves are the owners of Somewhere Unique, a property located in Wollombi approximately 25km south west of Cessnock. The property is a dedicated wildlife sanctuary offering eco-friendly accommodation. It is David and Murray's intent for it to continue to be used for the benefit of the local environment, with Somewhere Unique being the first accommodation property in the Hunter Valley Wine Country to achieve EcoTourism certification through Ecotourism Australia. David and Murray conduct an annual review of the property's carbon footprint and offset this through Greenfleet.

Somewhere Unique covers approximately 8 hectares of natural bushland dominated by eucalypt woodlands. Wildlife known to inhabit the area include common wallaroos (Macropus robustus) bare-nosed wombats (Vombatus ursinus), and a variety of native birdlife.
