Wildlife Land Trust / Sanctuaries / NSW / Wombat Care Bundanoon

John Creighton is the owner of Wombat Care Bundanoon, a property located approximately 80km south west of Wollongong. The property is a dedicated wildlife sanctuary used for wildlife rehabilitation. It is John’s intent for the property to continue to be used in these purposes and to continue planting native shrubs to improve the vegetation for the benefit of local wildlife. John is also currently incorporating enclosures for wombat rescue and rehabilitation into the land.

Wombat Care Bundanoon covers 0.4 hectares of native bushland forming part of a natural wildlife corridor which, while not protected, is abundant in wildlife.

Wildlife known to inhabit the property includes bare-nosed wombats (Vombatus ursinus), eastern grey kangaroos (Macropus giganteus), short-beaked echidnas (Tachyglossus aculeatus), brushtail possums (Trichosurus vulpecula) and diverse birdlife including tawny frogmouths (Podargus strigoides).
