Wildlife Land Trust / Sanctuaries / NSW / Manda and Sean’s Refuge

Manda Godfrey and Sean Petersen are the owners of a property located approximately 3km north of Stuarts Point. The property is a dedicated wildlife-friendly sanctuary with approximately a quarter of the land used as a fruit orchard. It is Manda and Sean’s intent for the property, which is also a member of the Land for Wildlife program, to continue in these purposes.

The sanctuary consists of 24 hectares of partially cleared native bushland adjoining Yarrihappini National Park. Vegetation types include paperbark wetlands, eucalypt woodlands and subtropical rainforest.

Wildlife species known to inhabit the property include eastern grey kangaroos (Macropus giganteus), swamp wallabies (Wallabia bicolor), eastern bearded dragons (Pogona barbata), dingoes (Canis dingo), lace monitors (Varanus varius) and brush turkeys (Alectura lathami), as well as a variety of snake and bird species.
