Wildlife Land Trust / Sanctuaries / NSW / Kippaxs

Geoffrey Grenfell is the owner of Kippaxs, a property located in Kippaxs, approximately 30km North of Wingham, New South Wales.  The property is primarily a dedicated wildlife sanctuary with the paddocks used for agriculture.  Geoffrey intends to grow organic garlic on the pastured sections of Kippaxs while continuing to revegetate and rehabilitate the remainder of the refuge.  The native forest section of the sanctuary (approximately 65 hectares) is listed as a Wildlife Refuge under the National Parks and Wildlife Act.

The sanctuary covers approximately 80 hectares, with around 15 hectares of pasture and the balance predominantly dry rainforest vegetation.  The wildlife species present on Kippaxs are numerous and include spotted-tailed quolls (Dasyurus maculatus), platypuses (Ornithorhynchus anatinus), an abundance of native bird species and a diverse array of reptiles.
