Wildlife Land Trust / Sanctuaries / NSW / Jane’s Refuge

Jane Hosking is the owner of a property located approximately 5km southwest of Taree.  The property is a dedicated wildlife sanctuary and home, and it is Jane’s intention for it to continue to be protected from development. She is currently exploring protection opportunities through various avenues.

The sanctuary covers 3 hectares of undulating, formerly cleared land with multiple vegetation species undergoing regrowth.  Vegetation types are dominated by eucalypt and acacia species, many of which are koala food sources.  Wildlife species known to be present on the property include swamp wallabies (Wallabia bicolor), koalas (Phascolarctos cinereus), ringtail (Pseudocheirus peregrinus) and brushtail (Trichosurus vulpecula) possums and a wide variety of native bird species.
