Wildlife Land Trust / Sanctuaries / NSW / Valley View

Bryan Douglas is the owner of Valley View a property located approximately 15km southeast of Lismore. The property is a dedicated wildlife sanctuary and residence, and is also used for small scale agriculture. It is Bryan’s intent for the property to continue in these uses.

The sanctuary covers 29.5 hectares of bushland and pasture, with native vegetation species including tallowwood (Eucalyptus microcorys) and various other eucalypt species. Close to 6 hectares of the property remains untouched, and this section along with adjoining land forms the base for regeneration efforts on the land.

Wildlife species for which the Valley View is known to provide habitat include koalas (Phascolarctos cinereus), swamp wallabies (Wallabia bicolor), short-beaked echidnas (Tachyglossus aculeatus), northern brown bandicoots (Isoodon macrourus), and a variety of snake and bird species.
