Roger Poole is the owner of Glenferrie, a property located in Braidwood, approximately 65km Northwest of Batemans Bay.  The property is a residence and dedicated wildlife sanctuary also used for wildlife rehabilitation.  Roger is a member of the Native Animal Rescue Group and Wildcare Queanbeyan, and it is his intention to eventually enter into a Voluntary Conservation Agreement to protect the sanctuary in perpetuity.  Furthermore, Glenferrie has a Wildlife Refuge Agreement with the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service.

The sanctuary covers 32 hilly hectares, predominantly comprised of dry sclerophyll forest featuring several species of wattle, including green wattle (Acacia deanei)and some saw-tooth banksia (Banksia serrata).

Wildlife known to be present on Glenferrie includes short-beaked echidnas (Tachyglossus aculeatus), bare-nosed wombats (Vombatus ursinus), eastern grey kangaroos (Macropus giganteus), goannas (Varanus spp.), and a wide variety of bird species such as crimson rosellas (Platycercus elegans) and satin bowerbirds (Ptilonorhynchus violaceus).
