Rob Snesby is the owner of a property located in approximately 30km north of Coffs Harbour. The property is a residence and dedicated wildlife sanctuary, and it is Rob’s intent to protect the land from future subdivision and encroaching development in perpetuity.
The sanctuary covers 13 hectares predominantly comprised of unlogged littoral rainforest and heathland bordering a tidal creek, situated approximately 200 meters from the high tide mark of Arrawarra Beach.
Wildlife presence on the refuge grows daily as encroaching development renders the habitat available increasingly essential for the area, with examples of species including eastern grey kangaroos (Macropus giganteus), swamp wallabies (Wallabia bicolor), koalas (Phascolarctos cinereus), ringtail (Pseudocheirus peregrinus) and brushtail (Trichosurus vulpecula) possums, short-beaked echidnas (Tachyglossus aculeatus), dingoes (Canis dingo), various lizards and a variety of birds such as white-bellied sea eagles (Haliaeetus leucogaster), kites, falcons, kingfishers, storks, bellbirds and more.
