Wildlife Land Trust / Sanctuaries / NSW / The Spinney Wildlife Refuge

Florence Whyte is the owner of The Spinney Wildlife Refuge, a rural property located in Falls Creek, approximately 10km South of Nowra, New South Wales.  The property was purchased with the intent of being a home and dedicated native wildlife sanctuary, and has had an agreement with the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service as a Nature Refuge since 1992.

The sanctuary covers approximately 12.4 hectares of native bushland and cleared paddock.  Wildlife known to be present on the property includes eastern grey kangaroos (Macropus giganteus), swamp wallabies (Wallabia bicolor), bare-nosed wombats (Vombatus ursinus), brushtail (Trichosurus vulpecula) and ringtail (Pseudocheirus peregrinus) possums, lizards, snakes and a wide variety of bird species.
