Wildlife Land Trust / Sanctuaries / NSW / Hillcrest

Geoff Fearne and Gail Trapp are the owners of Hillcrest, a property situated in Kangaroo Valley, approximately 30km northwest of Nowra, New South Wales. The property is a residence and wildlife sanctuary as well as the site of Kangaroo Valley Horse Riding. Along with running their business, Geoff and Gail constantly revegetate bushland areas of the property and assist wildlife through managing mange-afflicted wombats and providing forage for native species.

The property covers 48.56 hectares, with approximately 16 hectares used for pasture and the remainder consisting of bushland. Backing on to the Morton National Park, the property’s vegetation largely consists of eucalypt woodlands and rainforest.

A range of wildlife is present on the property including swamp wallabies (Wallabia bicolor), eastern grey kangaroos (Macropus giganteus), bare-nosed wombats (Vombatus ursinus), short-beaked echidnas (Tachyglossus aculeatus), snakes and a variety of bird species.
