Wildlife Land Trust / Sanctuaries / QLD / Wallaby Downs

Mark and Sissy Vine are the owners of Wallaby Downs, a property located approximately 40km south of Innisfail. The property is a residence and dedicated wildlife sanctuary and it is Mark and Sissy’s intent for it to remain for these purposes. Mark and Sissy are also wildlife carers and undertake wildlife rehabilitation on the Wallaby Downs sanctuary.

The 5.67 hectare property features stands of native vegetation and grassed areas, with local surrounds including large tracts of rainforest. Wildlife species known to inhabit the sanctuary include swamp (Wallabia bicolor) and agile (Macropus agilis) wallabies, bandicoots (Isoodon macrourus), lace monitors (Varanus varius), and a wide variety of native bird species.
