Wildlife Land Trust / Sanctuaries / VIC / Golden Wattle

Golden Wattle is Shirley Cowling’s 4 hectare sanctuary in Jumburra, Victoria.  With views to Wilson Promontory, the property’s dam and native vegetation provide habitat for a range of species including short-beaked echidnas (Tachyglossus aculeatus), golden whistlers (Pachycephala pectoralis), various honeyeaters, eastern spine-bills (Acanthorhynchus tenuirostris), robins, parrots, native ducks, Australian white ibises (Threskiornis moluccus), and many species of reptile.

Shirley has replanted the property with over 200 native indigenous plants and plans to use the property for educational purposes and perhaps a wildlife rehabilitation site.
