Wildlife Land Trust / Sanctuaries / VIC / Ravenwood

Bryan Ross is the owner of Ravenwood, a property located in Creswick, approximately 15km north of Ballarat, Victoria. The property is maintained as a residence and wildlife sanctuary, and it is Bryan’s intention to continue providing refuge for a range of wildlife.

Ravenwood covers approximately 2.02 hectares and features a large dam, which provides water and habitat for native species in the area. Vegetation on the property is dominated by eucalypts and various species of grass. The property is bordered by several pine plantations and therefore provides an “island” of natural habitat for local species.

Wildlife found on the property includes swamp wallabies (Wallabia bicolor), eastern grey kangaroos (Macropus giganteus), short-beaked echidnas (Tachyglossus aculeatus), black cockatoos (Calyptorhychus spp.), Australian wood ducks (Chenonetta jubata), Pacific black ducks (Anas superciliosa) and a wide array of birdlife.
