Wildlife Land Trust / Sanctuaries / VIC / Cara’s Refuge

Cara McDonald is the owner of a property located in Bullengarook, approximately 20km northwest of Sunbury, Victoria. The property is a partially cleared residential block, and it is Cara’s intent to maintain it as a residence, wildlife sanctuary and potential wildlife rehabilitation site.

The property covers approximately 4.5 hectares of partially cleared native bushland and is situated close to Lederberg State Park. Vegetation on the property largely consists of eucalypt woodland and native grassland as well as improved pasture species.

A range of wildlife is found on the property including eastern grey kangaroos (Macropus giganteus), swamp wallabies (Wallabia bicolor), bare-nosed wombats (Vombatus ursinus) and a variety of native bird species.
