A residence, stable and dedicated wildlife sanctuary

Description

Jenny and Craig are the owners of Capall Talun, a property located approximately 40km east of Perth.  The property is a family residence and is set up for horses, also featuring two fenced off bush reserves totaling approximately 0.56 hectares.  It is Jenny and Craig's intent to continue planting native species in the bush reserves as well as along the boundaries of Capall Talun.

The sanctuary covers 4 hectares with examples of vegetation species including Jarrah (Eucalyptus marginata), Marri (Corymbia calophylla), persoonias, acacias, grass trees (Xanthorrhoea spp.), lechenaultia, kangaroo paw (Anigozanthos flavidus), orchids, native lilies, native peas and grevillias.

Known wildlife inhabitants of Capall Talun include a wide range of native bird species such as red-tailed black cockatoos (Calyptorhynchus banksii), white-tailed black cockatoos (Calyptorhynchus baudinii), Port Lincoln parrots (Barnardius zonarius), galahs (Eolophus roseicapilla), kookaburras (Dacelo novaeguineae) and magpies (Gymnorhina tibicen dorsalis), as well as western grey kangaroos (Macropus fuliginosus) and a range of lizard species.
