Private Land Conservation Grants 2011

The Wildlife Land Trust, in partnership with the Foundation for National Parks and Wildlife, Nature Conservation Trust of NSW, Paddy Pallin Foundation, Diversicon Environment Foundation and the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage Department of Premier and Cabinet Conservation Partners Program, is pleased to announce that this year's round of the Private Land Conservation Grants Program is now open for applications.

The program, administered by the Foundation for National Parks and Wildlife, allows landholders in New South Wales with Conservation Agreements or in perpetuity Registered Property Agreements to apply for financial assistance to manage biodiversity conservation activities on their land. It is hoped that this fund will not only serve to improve a significant amount of conservation land, but also encourage others to permanently protect their land with a binding agreement.

In 2011 a total of $100,000 is available in grants ranging from $500 - 3,000 per year for up to three years. Applications close on the 30th of June, with forms accessible at http://www.fnpw.org.au/Funding/privateGrantsAppForm11.pdf or by contacting Evan on (02) 9973 1728 to request one be mailed out.

This is the fourth year that the Private Land Conservation Grants Program has been run, with $30,000, $50,000 and $75,000 allocated to 17, 21 and 25 projects in 2008, 2009 and 2010 respectively. The grants support owners of covenanted properties to conduct habitat or species conservation projects such as the restoration of native vegetation, management of weeds and enhancement of endangered species habitats on their land, and we strongly encourage those eligible to apply this year.
