At the forefront of this issue you'll find the latest news regarding the devolution of the Federal Government’s environmental powers to states and territories, followed by a feature piece on HSI's involvement in the greatly successful 16th meeting of the Conference of Parties of CITES.  Also inside are updates from HSI's true free-range farming accreditation scheme, Humane Choice, as well as global news and reports from several of our international project partners, and a sizeable section on our marine conservation activities.

The Wildlife Land Trust is well featured throughout the publication, with several pages dedicated to the latest on our habitat protection efforts such as Threatened Ecological Community and National Heritage nominations, passing the milestone of 200 member sanctuaries in Australia, the NSW Private Land Conservation Grants Program, a sanctuary profile on Ringtail Creek Flying-fox Sanctuary and more.

When launching HSI's previous Technical Bulletin late last year it was announced that a new-look, shorter and sharper edition would be featured in 2013.  While Issue 22 certainly has a new look, this is due to unforeseen production circumstances and is an interim measure only, so stay tuned for further changes to future editions.
