NSW: Kangaroo Keep - Denise Morgan and Peter Dickens

Denise Morgan and Peter Dickens are the owners of Kangaroo Keep, a property located in Manton, approximately 10km east of Yass, NSW. Denise and Peter intend to preserve the property as a wildlife sanctuary, extending from the Mundoonen Nature Reserve. Denise and Peter are also the owners of Pirli and Old Gap, existing WLT sanctuaries dedicated to wildlife rehabilitation and bush regeneration. The property is also registered with Land for Wildlife.

Kangaroo Keep covers approximately 47.5 hectares of undulating hills bordered on two sides by Mundoonen Nature Reserve. The sanctuary consists of cleared grassland and eucalypt woodland. Vegetative species are predominantly eucalypts such as scribbly gum (Eucalyptus rossii) and red stringybark (Eucalyptus macrorhyncha) as well as acacias (Acacia spp.), tea trees (Leptospermum spp.) and various native grasses.

Wildlife found throughout the sanctuary includes eastern grey kangaroos (Macropus giganteus), common wallaroos (Macropus robustus), Bennett's (Macropus rufogriseus) and swamp (Wallabia bicolor) wallabies, bare-nosed wombats (Vombatus ursinus), red bellied black (Pseudechis porphyriacus) and eastern brown (Pseudonaja textilis) snakes, wedge-tailed eagles (Aquila audax), welcome swallows (Hirundo neoxena) and various skinks.
