Lync Haven Rainforest Retreat PDF Print E-mail

Justin and Kristie White are the owners of Lync Haven Rainforest Retreat, a property located in Diwan, approximately 100km north-west of Cairns, Queensland. The property is partially developed for business as a tourist accommodation and wildlife park, in addition to being a dedicated sanctuary for native flora and fauna.

 

Justin and Kristie also run a wildlife rescue and rehabilitation operation on part of the property, rescuing and housing injured wildlife such as crocodiles, snakes, birds and dingoes. 

 

Lync Haven Rainforest Retreat covers 8.09 hectares of tropical rainforest dominated by various palms (Arecaceae spp.) and ferns (Polypodiopsida spp.) Wildlife known to inhabit includes red-legged pademelons (Thylogale stigmatica), musky rat-kangaroos (Hypsiprymnodon moschatus) and tree kangaroos (Dendrolagus spp.). Also present are a wide array of bird species including  southern cassowaries (Casuaris casuaris), double-eyed fig parrots (Cyclopsitta diophthalma) and noisy pittas (Pitta versicolor).
