SA: Kent and Anne's Refuge - Kent and Anne Wilson
Kent and Anne Wilson are the owners of a property located approximately 15km east of Adelaide. The property is a dedicated wildlife sanctuary and a residence. It is Kent and Anne's intent to continue to utilise the property as their main residence while encouraging native wildlife to inhabit the sanctuary.
Formerly an apple orchard, the property covers approximately 2 hectares of exotic trees and shrubs and eucalypt woodlands.
Wildlife known to inhabit the property include western grey kangaroos (Macropus fuliginosus), koalas (Phascolarctos cinereus), short-beaked echidnas (Tachyglossus aculeatus), magpies (Cracticus tibicen), ravens (Corvus coronoides), wattlebirds (Anthochaera spp.), golden whistlers (Pachycephala pectoralis), eastern spinebills (Acanthorhynchus tenuirostris), superb fairy-wrens (Malurus cyaneus), silvereyes (Zosterops lateralis), striated thornbills (Acanthiza lineata), white-throated treecreepers (Cormobates leucophaea), Horsfield's bronze cuckoos (Chrysococcyx basalis), red-browed firetails (Neochmia temporalis), New Holland honeyeaters (Phylidonyris novaehollandiae), and a variety of parrots, lizards and skinks.
